Who do you regard as the finest African striker to have played in the PSL?

#10.  Jean-Marc Ithier –  Mauritius

Ithier did just that, scoring at least 10 goals in his first five years at Santos after arriving from the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius – a place known more as a holiday destination than a football nation.

Towering and uncompromising in his approach to the game the Mauritian was almost impossible to neutralise in the box if ever anything came his way in the air. ‘Big Marc’ embraced the kind of football played by Santos which was all about playing to the strengths of the players that they had and putting aerial balls to good effect.

Though he was already 34 when he joined Santos he proved that playing football is not always about how old you are as he went on to score 71 goals in 203 starts for the Cape Town club before retiring just before he turned 41 in 2006.
