Isaac Amoako’s surgery ends successfully
The long-serving goalkeeper sustained the injury at the close of the 2014/15 season and doctors said only a surgery could ensure his comeback.
That surgery thus took place at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra on Friday afternoon.
“I received a call late evening that the process was over and that it was a success” said an elated Dr. Kwaku Boateng in telephone interview.
“Subsequently, I also spoke to Isaac Amoako” added the team surgeon who revealed that the goalie could be at the hospital for one or two weeks.
“He will be there for the next few weeks – at least a week or two” he said.
“The rehabilitation process which includes a physiotherapy programme starts from here” explained Dr. Boateng. “We are going to take him through that while we closely monitor his recovery. We will also prescribe specific diet for him” he added.
Asantekotokosc.com could not establish contact with Isaac Amoako to find out how he feels. However, Dr. Kwaku Boateng said he was cheerful and very happy that the process went well.
We will keep you posted with developments on the experienced goalkeeper’s recovery.
