Ghana starlet Henry Medarious joins Portuguese club Sporting da Covilhã

Henry MedariousGhana winger and playmaker Henry Medarious has joined Portuguese club Sporting da Covilhã from Ghana lower division side Lazio.

Henry  Medarious was an integral member of the black starlets team that qualified for the 2015 African Under-17 Championship but was later disqualified for fielding an unqualified player.

The black starlets were disqualified after a protest was drawn against them by Cameroon for fielding a player [Isaac Twum of Hearts of Lion] in the match. According to the Cameroonian coach “Ghana has a lot of unqualified players in their setup due to Age cheating.  Most of the players are above 17 years and are not eligible to play in the tournament.”

17-year-old Henry Medarious started his football career with Lazio fc which is based at Madina, before he joined Segunda Liga outfit after a successful trial with the club

Henry was on the bench for his club Sporting da Covilhã when they managed a narrow 1-0 victory over Oriental Lisboa last Sunday.
