Comoros 0-0 Ghana: Black Stars held by Comoros in WCQ

ayew-comorosIt was a very crucial encounter for the black stars of Ghana as they were held by the Islanders to a goalless game. The hosts booked their place in the second round of qualifying with an 8-1 aggregate success over Lesotho and had chances to pick up a surprise win over Avram Grant’s Black Stars.

The second leg which will be played on Tuesday at the Baba Yara Stadium will be the decider for the two sides after a goalless game today.

Ghana stood as favorites in the match which was played at the Stade Said Mohammed Cheikh but the home side proved to be very resilient as they managed to avoid conceding a goal in the first leg tie.

Majeed Waris started in attack for Ghana with Jordan Ayew playing slighty behind him before skipper Asamoah Gyan came in with 10 minutes to full time.

The Ghana team are expected to arrive in Accra over the weekend and will move straight to Kumasi where they will begin preparations for the crunch second leg match.
