Avram Grant – It was a “disappointing” defeat
Ghana black stars head coach Avram Grant says he was disappointed in the opening Group C match loss to Senegal but believes that the black stars still have a chance to qualify and they will do every thing in their power to qualify to the next stage of the competition.
He said ‘ his team played against a very experienced and physical Senegalese side but he still have hope that Ghana will turn things around when they meet Algeria in their second Group C game on Friday.
Ghana is now placed 3rd on the log with no points after losing to Senegal by 2 goals to 1, whiles South Africa lies 4th after losing to tournaments’ favorite Algeria by 3 goals to 1.
“It was very disappointing because we did everything to win the game… they scored from high balls. It was difficult to compete against them in the high balls. We lost the battle in the air,” the ex-Chelsea boss said in a post-match interview.
