Asamoah Gyan continues to win titles in the UAE ever since he made his move from English side Sunderland fc powering Al Ain to win the 2014/2015 Arabian Gulf League title.
Gyan who is popularly known as Baby Jet has now won three(3) league titles in his four seasons in the UAE top-flight. The 29-year-old, despite winning a team award, is set to miss out on his trademark goal king accolade since he is on 13 goals, 11 behind Al Jazira’s Mirko Vucinic with three more matches to go.
Gyan was as on target on Thursday night as Al Ain defeated Al Ittihad Kalba 4-0 to remain on course. However, Al Jazira needed a win badly on Friday to restore the seven-point deficit behind Al Ain, but their 1-0 defeat to Al Wahda left them with no hope as Zlatko Dalic’s side are set to be crowned champions for the 12th time.
